This 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback is an exceptional and rare example. It has benefitted from a comprehensive restoration and fastidious long term care. The car is presented in its original shade of Ivy Green metallic paint with the proper Black vinyl interior. Both of which present beautifully.
It is a factory K code vehicle with the correct 271hp V8 mated to a 4 speed manual transmission. This rare and desirable drivetrain is further advanced with a pair of Carter AFB 4 barrel carburetors mounted to a period correct Cobra intake manifold. The linkage, fuel rail and fittings are all period proper and as such may well have been a dealer installed upgrade. The engine block clearly shows its factory stamping of 5K26T. This dates it correctly for the build time of this car. Additional options include Power brakes, Rally pack instruments, Factory AM radio, Dual exhaust with chrome trumpets, Aftermarket Hurst shifter with wooden shift knob, Factory fog lamps, Special handling package, GT Stripe and more.
The car runs and drives exceptionally well and has a great overall feel. The body is straight and highlights the beautifully applied Ivy Green paint. Very minor blemishes from road chips have been touched up. The interior vinyl seat coverings and general finishes look great. Seating surfaces present excellent with very minimal signs of use.
The underside is exceptionally clean and rust free. The proper finishes are present and it is obvious that the car has been well cared for as demonstrated by the overall condition.
This Mustang has been in the same ownership since 1989 and has been treasured for that entire time.
